Background

Integrated Rural Development Society (IRDS), Mahottari is a non-government, non-profit making social organization which works to uplift the living status of the women, Dalit, indigenous, children and other discriminated people of rural community and improve their socio-economic and health condition by proper mobilization of local resources with community participation.

Legal Registration: IRDS was legally registered as a NGO in June 1994 at District Administration Office, Mahottari, Nepal with registration number 76 and affiliated with Social Welfare Council in the year 1994 with the registration number 1937.

IRDS since its inception have worked in Mahottari, Dhanusha, Sarlahi, Sindhuli and Ramechaap District on various program and projects. IRDS have worked extensively with RWSSFDB from II batch to X batch and have successfully completed all the projects.

IRDS have worked with World Neighbour USA, Poverty Alleviation Fund, CARE Nepal, CECI, PACT, WWF, Canadian Cooperation, UNICEF, Heifer International Nepal, Government of Nepal and Social Welfare Council on various programs.

Current Project: IRDS is implementing Integrated Nutrition and Resilient Livelihood (INRL-TP) Project in Ekdara & Samsi Rural Municipality of Mahottari District with the technical & financial support from WVI Nepal. The overall goal of the project is children are well-nourished.
